Disney Land Day! AKA Day Five

Tuesday was day number five. Disneyland day! We spent the night in Anaheim about a mile from the park so we could easily be there before it opened in the morning.  As you can see from the first two photos, there is not much going on early in the morning. Main Street was deserted.

The morning was nice because it wasn't too crowded.

The first ride of the day was the Matterhorn. Great fun. Romy refused to ride it. She is not fond of large coasters and was unsure at the beginning of the day. After she saw how much fun we had, she rode every ride she could for the rest of our visit.

Romy has started collecting pins as we travel. This one is her favorite so far. It is crazy. All four pieces spin. You could go broke buying pins at Disney! Jack got one with Darth Vader on it, of course.

I couldn't resist getting a pic from inside the 'It's a Small World' ride.

G enjoying the train ride.

We got to meet Tigger, Eore, Pooh and the princess from The Princess and the Frog.

Noah was pretty into it!

Sleeping Beauty's castle was lit up and sparkly after dark. Impressive in the daylight, too.

Splash Mountain was the largest ride that G rode. We were a bit worried about it but he insisted he had to ride. It was great. Their faces say it all! Most all the rides were ok for G to ride. I think the kids and I only did two or three without him. Most of the rides there are very mild. I still can't decide which one is my favorite.

The tea cups were ridden twice. Great fun!

We found the whale from Pinocchio! Jack said he needed to brush his teeth.

The day was long and exciting. We enjoyed the park food and especially loved the Dole Whips that everyone raves about. G said it was one of the best things he had ever eaten. I knew he would love it! I did a lot of research about the park before our trip. We were also able to get a free pin for each of the kids that said 'First Visit'. That was pretty cool.

Our plan was to stay until the park closed but G and Jack were quite tired by 10pm, and the crowds are a lot different after the sun goes down. We knew when it was time to leave.

Over all, it was a wonderful experience for all of us. Seems like such a blur now. I hope they will always remember it.
